‘The spirit of the old photographic process is in the air.’ Sascha Weidner
For this project, Sascha Weidner has moved between Sydney’s terrain and subterrain, with images shot over a ten-day period. At the conclusion of the installation period, Weidner departs, leaving the images to chemically decompose during the six-week exhibition period. The project combines object and installation and encourages visitors to investigate, touch and handle the works laid out in darkroom developing trays. Weidner’s work is informed by investigations of polarity including darkness and light, urban and bush, beauty and ugliness.
In partnership with the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales and the Goethe-Institute.
