While facing an outsized ladder – a metaphor of hierarchy – the viewers’ lips are counted, assigned a foreign language and projected onto a large screen. In this interactive installation, Raskopoulos uses face recognition software and image capturing technologies to explore the inherent contradiction in the operation of surveillance systems, perceived as ‘soft-violence’ and ‘social-violence’.
