Ann Shelton’s photographic series In a forest documents the stories of oak trees given as seedlings to gold medallists at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany. Shelton mapped the dispersal of many of these trees, often referred to as ‘Hitler Oaks’, across North America and Europe, investigating the complexities of memory.
