Photographer's Assistant

Becoming a photographer's assistant is widely recognised as one of the best ways to establish a career in photography. This course is for anyone with a basic understanding of photography and an interest in becoming a professional photographer by first working as an assistant. You will learn about the kinds of equipment that are used in a commercial studio and how to operate them. You will be introduced to the basics of setting up a business and strategies for marketing your skills. And you will find out more about staying organised, etiquette when dealing with clients and building your own network of contacts. The course includes a review of services and labs available to the professional photographer in Sydney. All equipment for demonstration is supplied - you simply require a note pad and pen.

Required: Camera Craft 1 (or relevant experience), a digital or film SLR camera
