Night Photography

Specialist Course
5 classes / 3 hours per class / 1 class per week

Photographers have long been fascinated with the surreal and mysterious quality of night scene imagess. Night photography challenges the technical limits of both camera and photographer. This course will teach you fundamental techniques to deal with low-light situations. In addition to exploring the technical aspects of night photography, you will be introduced to creative ways of exploring low-light scenarios. There will be discussions on the aesthetics of creative night photography as well as visual examples of technique. In two classes you will receive hands on experience and direction while taking night photos with your tutor. Other topics include the advantages and disadvantages of using a film or digital camera for night photography, light metering in extreme situations, using flash, and general safety.
