The Australian Centre for Photography (ACP) hosted its inaugural Spectrum dinner, on the 27th of November, attracting people from Sydney's business, fashion, and creative industries. The evening drew inspiration from the baroque extravagance of the international award-winning photographers Montalbetti and Campbell, whose immersive exhibition premiered that night.
Guests disguised themselves as their frivolous alter-egos and celebrated the evening in the ACP's galleries. Surrounded by the grandeur of Montalbetti and Campbell's imagery, guests included Haissam Aoun, owner of Bondi Man skin products; fashion designer Hannah McNicol; Nic Briand and Susien Cheong, owners of Lover fashion label; Gael Newton, Senior Curator of Photography at the National Gallery of Australia; Lesley Brydon, former Executive Director of the Advertising Federation of Australia; Rowen Smith, National Advertising Manager at Paramount Pictures and Nic Middenway of Ringmaster Design. Graham Howe, the ACP's first director, flew over from Pasadena California to attend the event.
Upon arrival guests were greeted by a performance from Australian Youth Orchestra's Mathisha Panagoda before being whisked away for a personal photo shoot in the elaborate, baroque style of Montalbetti and Campbell. Guests then enjoyed a three course meal and were entertained by a catwalk show of Trelise Cooper fashion designs. All celebrations were accompanied by wines from Liquid Ideas.
