What drives our society's obsession with celebrities? Are they just an escape from reality or do they have a more important function? In this afternoon tea at the ACP, we explore the inner workings of fame from the point of view of the industry professionals, the fans, and the new breed of 'internet celebrities'.

Panellists include Richard Simpkin (Richard & Famous), paparazzi photographer Peter Carette, Youtube celebrity Natalie Tran (Community Channel) and Professor Catharine Lumby (Director of the Journalism and Media Research Centre at the University of NSW)
