Street Photography
Live life as adventure and embrace the chaotic energy and chance offerings of everyday street life In this specialist course we will discuss the history of street photography and you will draw inspiration from the masters of street photography, such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Walker Evans, Robert Frank, Garry Winogrand, Lee Friedlander, Diane Arbus, William Klein and Josef Koudelka With a focus on the practical aspect of street photography your tutor, Marco Bok, will discuss techniques for working candidly and unobtrusively in public places to best express your experience and regard of your life and times. You will also learn to overcome your fears in relation to seizing the moment and approaching people who intrigue and interest you for impromptu, in situ, street portraits. Over the 10 weeks you will work towards presenting a final body of work either as a slide show or book format. Please note two of the practical classes will be held during the daytime. This allows you to photograph in the daylight as well as night time.
