A photograph is not only an image, an interpretation of the real; it is also a trace, something directly stencilled off the real - Susan Sontag

A photographic document is one of the most powerful forms of contemporary communication. It can help us understand the foreign and cast new light on the familiar. This course will explore the history and ethics of the documentary image. With the emphasis on practical work, you will plan and undertake a project, which will then be analysed through group discussion. Over the weeks you will not only learn how to take strong, communicative images, but build sequences of pictures which tell a clear and meaningful story.

Required: Camera Craft 2 (or relevant experience)

Places strictly limited, ACP Membership is required
