The Australian Centre for Photography Creative Learning Department offers an extensive program of courses, specialist workshops, seminars and master classes delivered by some of Australia's leading photographers, photo-educators and digital imaging professionals.

The ACP promotes a culture of creativity and fulfilment to it's student community and has paved the way for the careers of many leading photographers and industry professionals.

Listed are courses that will be become available either later this term or next term. Please register your expression of interest as this will help us decide which classes run first when a spot becomes available.

Don’t have an SLR camera but have a great point and shoot camera? Over two classes this course will show you how to get the best out of your camera modes. You will then learn how to download, edit and get your photographs to print or web ready standard. (2 classes / 3 hours per class / 1 class per week)

Lighting is fundamental to photography. In this intensive daytime course your tutor, Tom Luscombe, will give you a basic grounding in lighting techniques for both studio and location work. Immerse yourself in the world of fashion in this 5 week intensive course taught by fashion photographer Christian Blanchard. Note some weeks are 6 hour classes. Recently named by Capture Magazine as one of Australia’s top ten. Christian shoots both internationally and nationally on campaigns for clients such as Mimco, L’Oreal, Ford and Puma. The portable flash is one of the photographers most versatile tools, this workshop is for anyone who wants to better understand their external speedlight and gain confidence and the technical skills to know how to use flash under a range of different lighting conditions. In this introduction to Adobe Creative Suite 5.5, you will learn how to navigate the workspace in it's entirety. You will be introduced to the principles of Digital imaging and colour management. Please note you don't need to own a large format camera to partake in this class. In this two week course you will learn the essentials of large format film photography. This 5 week specialist Lighting class explores the unique styles of master photographers from the golden era of Hollywood. In the first week your tutor will lead you through an intensive prevision session to plan the shoots for the following four weeks. (5 classes / 3 hours per class / 1 class per week)
