Creative Learning

The Australian Centre for Photography Creative Learning Department offers an extensive program of courses, specialist workshops, seminars and master classes delivered by some of Australia's leading photographers, photo-educators and digital imaging professionals.

The ACP promotes a culture of creativity and fulfilment to it's student community and has paved the way for the careers of many leading photographers and industry professionals.

The course structure is designed to help you find the right course for you and your skill level.

Just starting out? Camera Craft 1 is our most popular course and you will learn everything you need to know about your camera.

The Enthusiast – Love to take photographs? The Enthusiast level enables you to learn how to make the most of your Digital or Film SLR camera. Courses in this area provide you with the foundation skills to then focus your practice towards digital, studio or darkroom-based learning.

I want to be a professional - Do you have the creative flair but need to improve your technical skills? Want to start a career in photography? The Creative Learning Team can quickly assess you and map out the beginning of your new career. Then start to specialise in the photographic areas that interest you – black and white darkroom work, Photoshop manipulation and retouching, post production, photographers assistant and specialist lighting techniques.

Specialist - Once you have mastered your photography technical skills you can go on to explore a variety of specialist subjects at the ACP. Demand is always intense and prospective students are advised to enrol in their chosen course well in advance of the published starting date. To ensure you and your fellow students get the best out of each class there are necessary prerequisite levels of skill.

Darkroom - Want to photograph in Black and White Film and have full control of your work? We can teach you how to expose the perfect photograph, and then process your roll of film. You can then scan your photograph to obtain a digital image or head back into the darkroom to make the perfect print.
